Recipe - Cacao Banana Flax Protein Smoothie

This is a divine blend of omega 3's, antioxidants, and fiber from flax seeds and raw, pure cacao powder, as well as potassium from bananas. Have this drink to get you fueled first thing in the morning before you start your workout or after, to recover.

This recipe is dairy-free and uses almond milk. I've also added coarsely ground flax seeds which you can buy at a natural foods store. These seeds are packed with EFA's as well as other important nutrients.

Ingredients

  5 or so ice cubes
  4 1⁄2 oz. fresh organic banana (about 1 large), sliced
Add To Cart    2 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Twister Superfood Blend
Add To Cart    1 Tbsp. Navitas Naturals Cacao Powder
  1 1⁄4 cups organic unsweetened almond milk
  1 Tbsp. coarsely ground flax seeds
  1–2 pinches sea salt

Directions

Add ingredients, in order, into a strong blender (it is important to keep the ice cubes on the bottom, closest to the blade). Blend until smooth. For a thinner consistency, add more almond milk.
